CBC's Children's Ministry is partnering with parents to win children to Christ and to build a foundation of Faith for Eternity.

Sunday Morning

NURSERY GARDEN
It is our desire to provide a safe, happy and loving environment for your child's first church experience. As we share God's love with them, through meeting their needs, we trust you will be able to relax and focus on learning God's truth and worshipping Him. Care is provided during all Sunday morning services and special all-church services scheduled throughout the year.  The Nursery is a vital part of the church body and we hope you and your child will be blessed by this service to the Lord.  Each time you arrive, you will be greeted by our helpful staff at the nursery welcome desk.  Here you will get signed in and receive a pager .  You will then be directed to our secure classrooms, where screened staff members will help your child get settled and involved in the activities of the room. When you return, you should stop at the nursery welcome desk in order to get checked out and then can go to claim your child.

Our Nursery Garden is divided into 6 age groups:

Hummingbirds: Birth - 4 months
Goldfinch: 5 months - 10 months
Purple Butterflies: 11 months - 16 months
Bumble Bees: 17 months - 23 months
Monarch Butterflies: 24 months - 30 months
Dragonflies: 31 months - 36 months

PRESCHOOL & ELEMENTARY
Our Preschool and Elementary Children have a welcome desk as well.  Here Parents check-in and check-out children in Preschool  or Elementary through Fifth Grade.  It is important that parents escorted their children to the assigned classrooms and then return to the classrooms to pick-up the child when it is time to leave.

PRESCHOOL JUNGLE:
The Preschool Program is for children ages 3 to 5 (PreKindergarten).  This program provides solid Bible teaching with fun and activity that invites children to learn and grow.

The children are separated into classes as follows:
ELEPHANTS Room 110 (Green): Young 3s, children who may still be working on Potty training.

ZEBRAS Room 114 (Red): 3 year olds.

MONKEYS Room 113 (Yellow): 4 year olds.

GIRAFFES Room 101-107 (Purple): 4-5 yr olds who are heading to Kindergarten in the upcoming year.

During first service the children are involved in Preschool Sunday School.  Using the Gospel Light curriculum, children are taught God’s Word.  They take part in a large group singing time and then split into small groups to hear the Bible Story and do a related craft or activity.

Preschool Praise is Second Service.  The children are given time to be involved in active play during this service.  They also have a craft/activity and story time which relates to what they have learning during the first service.

YOUNGER ELEMENTARY FOREST (Kindergarten - 1st grade):
During First service, our Kindergarten and First Graders have Sunday School. They meet on the upper level of the building.  (Kind. Room 200-202; First Room 204-206; Second Room 205-207) Each age group is in its own classroom and is taught Biblical truths.  Children are encouraged to memorize scriptures and to apply them to their lives.  There are songs, activities and much fun during that time!

During second service, the Kindergarten-First Graders are involved in Jr. Sunday Celebration.  This year’s theme for Jr. Sunday Celebration is God’s Kids Grow.  This very active time has them rotating to various rooms to be involved in The Harvest Hoe-down; The Praise Garden and The Fruit Barn.  They are learning about the lives of people who exhibited the Fruit of the Spirit (Love, Joy, Peace, Patience, Kindness, Goodness, Faithfulness, Gentleness and Self-Control from Galatians 5:22-23)

OLDER ELEMENTARY OCEAN (2nd - 5th grade):
Our Second -Fifth Graders meet on the lower level of the building.  Parents must also check-in and check-out these students at the Preschool/Elementary Welcome Desk.  The students are split into age level class and are involved in a variety of fun and active Bible Learning activities.  They are challenged to memorize scripture and make it part of their lives.

During second service, we ask that the third –fifth graders attend the worship service with their parents.  We feel it is valuable for children to see adults worshipping to Lord with them.  Students who are in Second grade take part in the Jr. Sunday Celebration Program with our Kindergarten and First Graders.

Wednesday Evening
AWANA
Our AWANA program continues to reach children in our community as well as those from our church. The main goal of AWANA is to motivate the child to memorize Scripture, accept the Lord as their Savior, and grow in their faith. Awana is an international, Bible-centered youth ministry providing local churches with weekly clubs and programs for pre-schoolers through grade 5. Our goal is to reach boys and girls, and their families, with the gospel of Christ and train them to serve Him. The acronym AWANA comes from the first letters of the phrase - Approved Workmen Are Not Ashamed (2 Timothy 2:15).

Cubbies is the Awana Club for preschoolers during the two years prior to regular kindergarten, usually three- and four-year-olds. Cubbies is unique because it supports and maintains parents as the primary source of spiritual nurturing by directly involving them in the teaching and learning process. Cubbies uses the fundamental Awana elements of games and activities, Bible memorization, handbooks, and awards.

Sparks is the Awana Club for kindergartners, first-graders, and second-graders. Each club meeting has three parts. In Game Time, Sparkies enjoy entertaining games played on the Awana Game Circle. During Green Meadow Time, Sparkies gather for their age-appropriate Bible lesson. During Sparkle Time, clubbers recite Bible verses from memory, complete handbook sections, and earn awards. Sparky, the friendly firefly, appears throughout the Bible-based materials to encourage clubbers to complete their handbook achievements.

Our club for grades 3-5 is called T&T. T&T stands for Truth & Training. We want our Awana clubbers to know the truth of God's Word, and we want to train them to serve Him in their everyday lives. The T&T program has four handbooks called The Ultimate Adventure Series. Clubbers progress through these levels at their own pace. Once they complete the Start Zone, clubbers receive an award badge with places to mark the completion of each handbook segment. In addition to the regular sections, there are extra-credit sections (with special awards) throughout the handbooks. After completing each book, clubbers receive a book completion series of major awards to motivate kids to higher levels of Bible memorization and study.

Our leaders encourage each clubber to complete their handbooks and receive their end-of-the-year award. We encourage the children to excel, not just for an award, but for the life-long benefit of having God's word in their hearts.
