Chris

I was born, raised and practiced the Catholic faith until about 1980. Because I only went to Catholic school and Catholic church, I knew no other religion.

After 1980, it just got easier not to get out of bed and go to church. I didn’t have a reason. It wasn’t that I didn’t believe in God. I just chose not to get out of bed and go to church on Sunday mornings.

It was during a rough time in my marriage when I did accept the Lord as my personal savior, but I am sure that I did not really know the full meaning of this until I started to attend CBC. I also did not realize how much I missed God in my life over the past 25+ years.

I do realize that since I have been attending church and now have interaction with God on a daily basis, I feel calmer about life. I feel like my marriage is stronger than ever; and I feel like I am accountable for what I say and do.

The other week we sang a song called “Sanctuary”. The words are:
Lord, prepare me to be a sanctuary,
Pure and holy, tried and true.
    With thanksgiving,
I’ll be a living sanctuary for you.

I would like to live by those words.

It was not my idea to come to this church; but I am glad that Mark wanted to come and see Brian Gerhart play the drums. That one Sunday morning trip to CBC has changed my thinking about God. Now I do think about and pray to Him everyday. Thanks Mark and Brian.

As for a favorite verse, I can’t say that I have chosen one yet. I am still reading the Bible.
