I came to Christ two years ago on Easter Sunday. I woke up that morning with this burning desire to reach out to the Lord. I called my son Brian and told him I wanted to go to church with him.

I met him at CBC that morning and attended the Easter service. After hearing Pastor Ron speak on the risen Lord, I felt convicted and went up front to receive the Lord. I knew I was a sinner and I needed to declare to God that I needed Him. I had done many sinful things in my life that helped to lead to my divorce. Following Jesus is not the easiest path to take, but it is the only one that will lead us to restoration, joy and fulfillment. He gives you a new outlook in your life and your heart, with new interests and friends and also new jobs.

The Lord is also restoring my relationship with my former wife and we are getting remarried on August 25.

I now have a real heart for God that gives me a boldness to speak about the Lord that I didn’t have before. I’ve learned a lot with the help of Pastor Jeff, my ABF class, Tuesday morning Bible Study group and my own Bible reading. I know very well how foolish the message of the Cross may sound to those who are headed on the road to destruction. But we who are saved recognize the message as the very grace of God.

I’d like to close with a favorite verse from Romans 10: 8-13: “The message is close at hand. It is on your lips and in your heart. For it is by believing in your heart that you are made right with God and it is by confessing with your mouth that you are saved.” As the scriptures tell us, “Anyone who believes in him will not be disappointed. For anyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.”
