~What We Believe~

We Believe:
  • In the divine inspiration, truthfulness and authority of the Scriptures.

  • In the Trinity, self-existent and self-revealing in three persons, the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit. (John 4:24, 14:9)

  • In the Lord Jesus Christ who is the Word of God incarnate, born of a virgin, and who was sacrificed on the cross for the sins of the world. He was raised from the dead and ascended into Heaven. He is the believer's High Priest who intercedes to God on our behalf. (John 1:1, 14)

  • In the Holy Spirit who empowers and guides the believer to righteous living through sanctification (the process of making one holy). (2 Corinthians 3:18)

  • In Man, created in the Image of God, who through his own disobedience became a sinner, alienated from God. (Ephesians 2:3; Genesis 3:1-24)

  • In Salvation by Grace through Faith. Man is incapable of restoring his relationship with God. Salvation (restoration) is a free gift from God, received by believing in the Lord Jesus Christ and the redeeming work of the cross. (Romans 3:24, 6:23)

  • That the Church is comprised of those individuals who, by grace through faith, have come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior and have been regenerated by the Holy Spirit. They are united with one another in the Body of Christ of which He is the Head.

  • Only those who are believers in Jesus Christ shall be eligible for membership in the local church.

  • That water baptism by immersion and the Lord’s Supper (communion) are ordinances to be observed by the Church during the present age. They are, however not to be regarded as a means of salvation.

  • In Holy Living and Good Works. The evidence of salvation is a changed life. The mark of a growing believer is the presence of the fruit of the Spirit. (1 John 3:9-11)

  • In the Existence of Satan. He was a created being, but because of pride, rebelled against God and became God's adversary. As the leader of the powers of evil, he wages war against God's Kingdom. His judgment and defeat are certain because of Christ's work on the cross. (Ezekiel 28:13-17)

  • In the Second Coming of Christ. Jesus Christ will return to earth to take His bride, the Church, to Heaven. Those who have not accepted the gift of salvation will be judged by God. (Mark 13:32-37; Revelation 1:7)

  • In the Future Life, Bodily Resurrection, and Eternal Judgment. We believe in the eternality of the soul and the resurrection of the body. (Philippians 1:21-23; 2 Corinthians 5:8).

  • In Separation from the World Unto God. The believer's Christian walk will express itself in conformity to Christ in life and conduct. (Romans 12:1-2)
